Men Feel Too

A Reflection for Men’s Mental Health Month

June isn’t just Father’s Day season.

It’s also Men’s Mental Health Month — and that deserves space, especially in our Black and Brown communities.

Too often, our men are told:

• Don’t cry

• Be a man

• Keep going, no matter what

But the truth is, many of them are walking around in pain. Unspoken. Unseen. Untended. They’re expected to be strong. Silent. Unshaken. But where do they go to grieve? Who gives them space to feel?

As I move through this week of honoring Black men, I feel it heavy in my spirit.

Once they step outside their home, they’re not seen for who they truly are. Not as fathers. Not as sons. Not as protectors. That narrative must be broken.

And it starts with us.

Let’s be the generation that sees our men fully. Not just for their strength, But for their sacred softness, too.

Let’s offer them rest.

Let’s offer them room.

Let’s offer them love without conditions.

Because men feel too.

And their healing is holy.
